Here’s a little history on the special cat our race is named after, Little Miss Jade.
Jade was found abandoned in a box in a field with her brothers and sisters. At 16 weeks, my son rescued Jade from the local Animal Shelter and gave her to me as a Christmas present. Although I had very little experience with cats, Jade immediately grew a special place in my heart and quickly consumed my life. She has become my comfort, my peace, and my joy. She has been there for me in the happiest of times and the toughest of times. You may have heard the saying “Who rescued Who” and I absolutely identify as I needed Jade as much as she needed me.
Just like Jade, rescues are truly special, and they deserve better. Many of the animals in the shelters have been abandoned. Many have health issues. They can’t save themselves, but together we can help them have a better life and find forever homes.
Jade’s Furry Friends 5k is a charity run/walk where 100% of the proceeds will go directly to animal shelters in our area.
The money raised will help fund not only food and supplies, but also veterinarian care, medical assistance, and spaying/neutering procedures.
Our mission is to raise funds and awareness. Together we can save them all.
