Q: What is Jade’s Furry Friends 5K?
A: Jade’s Furry Friends 5K is an event where animal lovers come together to help save the lives of homeless animals in our area. 100% of the proceeds will go to local shelters to help fund food and supplies as well as veterinarian care, medical assistance and spaying/neutering procedures.
Q: When is the event?
A: Saturday, June 20th, 2026
Q: What time does the race start?
A: 7:30am
Q: How long is the race?
A: The race is a 5K (3.1 miles).
Q: Do I have to run?
A: Nope! You can run, walk, ruck, skip, trot, however you choose to move is up to you!
Q: Is there a cut-off time?
A: The cut-off time is 9am.
Q: Can I bring my pet to the race?
A: Unfortunately, per our city permit, no pets are allowed along our race route. However, we do encourage you to honor your pet by bringing a picture of them. A couple ideas would be to have a shirt made with their face on it, or attach your favorite picture of them to your shorts or a popsicle stick you can hold. Feel free to get creative.
Q: Do you offer refunds?
A: No, but you can transfer your entry to another person.
Q: How does the Virtual option work?
A: Virtual participants can do the 5K on the day and time that works best for them. It does not need to be the same day or time as our in-person event. Once the virtual participant completes their 5K, they simply email us proof and we will mail their medal to them
Q: Is there a medal?
A: Yes! Each Run/Walk participant (both in-person AND virtual) that finishes the race receives a medal! Those who sign up for the Ruck Division (both in-person AND virtual) will receive a patch instead.
Q: What is the ruck division?
A: It’s for participants who want to walk the 5k course with a weighted backpack. The minimum required weight for the backpack is 10 pounds.
